12. She doesn't just represent Austin - so we did not elect her
Dunbar, 43, was elected to the education board in 2006 from District 10, which includes the northern half of Austin and Travis County, as well as Bastrop, Williamson, Fayette, Lee, Milam and part of Fort Bend counties, among others. There are 15 education districts in Texas, each covering huge swaths of territory and multiple counties.

This is roughly around the same area that Republican Congressman Mike McCaul just won re-election. And that, despite the fact that Travis overwhelming went for his Democratic opponent Larry Joe Doherty.

The main problem is the whole State Board of Education - they're all wingnuts. Another contributing factor is that not too many people run for these seats. The Democrats have not recruited a good candidate that would draw support from the conservative counties where this person has to win too.

I'm just saying don't be dumping this nutcase on Travis's doorstep - we didn't vote for her.
