I should have said that Pepsi or other corporations pay these "naming rights" so that their name appears everywhere when the venue is in use. TV visuals, refernces in writing and online, radio when talking about the XYZ Center. So no, not free. But all about branding.

One thing is that these centers are named because they have to sell the names to pay athletes to stay competitive. I know sounds dumb but true. Or they need to raise ticket prices.
