This is at least my 4th (possibly 5th, not including merchandise) donation to Senator Obama since Super Tuesday and I wish I could donate more. My family's financial situation hasn't been so great this year, but both my wife and I have been donating on almost a monthly basis since February in small amounts and are incredibly proud every time we do.
We were not Obama supporters prior to February, but decided to attend the Boston rally held the night before Super Tuesday to hear the Senator out and give him a chance to earn our votes. We both came away knowing that knowing that this is a campaign we not only could get behind, but that we need to actively support. My experience that night was incredible, and dare I say, transformative. The speakers that night were great, but what really moved me were the people I met that night (during my 4 hour wait at the front of the line, and while inside against the barricades around the stage) - I met people of different genders, ages, economic backgrounds, political parties, and more; and every one the people I met were there for the "movement" I was just getting involved in. These people from such disparate backgrounds were not only there for the rally, but were there to become part of the campaign, and to volunteer to help get Senator Obama elected. It was the first time that I felt that I wanted to be part of a campaign; that I wanted to do more than just vote for a candidate; that I felt valued for my support.
I agree that our time is now, and I'm grateful that "we" are active, and vocal, and on the ground to make it happen.
Thank you for taking the time to read my entry.

PS: I'm also an active blogger (at times, reporter) for Obama, and if you care, here are just a few of my blogs. Please excuse the salty language in the Boston Rally blog - I promise not to bring my mother's potty mouth with me if I happen to be fortunate enough to go to Denver. My blogger name is "Sniffa" and if you want a really laugh/read, please read my last link if anything (I think even Barack may enjoy it).

I just noticed I left out a word in two sentences, and typing a phrase twice in a row. D'oh! I'm sooo not going to Denver. :(
