2. The Star endorsed Mark Funkhouser for mayor. What a disaster
Funkhouser has been since he was elected. He was politically inexperienced and had a reputation for being unable to work successfully with others, but he ran an inspirational campaign and sparkled in debates.
It is a shame that the Star's endorsement probably made all the difference in that very close contest.
I suspect the Star is reluctant to go down that same road and is endorsing Hillary in an attempt to redeem itself.
Meanwhile, Al Brooks, the man who was almost elected Kansas City's mayor over Funkhouser -- it was soooo close -- supports Obama and is involved in the Obama campaign here in K.C.
