Richard Lugar has been a more effective Senator against Bush than Bayh has. At least Lugar, with the Lugar-Biden thing, tried to delay the Iraq war until someone could, so, I dunno, maybe vet the intelligence or expose some of the lying bullshit.

Bayh was one of the yes-men who made sure he cuddled up to Bush for a photo op on the White House lawn when they all voted and shelved the Biden-Lugar, or whichever way it was labeled.

He's a suck up to power.

Of those you mention, Edwards could bring in some southern votes, maybe. He's a good speaker.

I really, really don't want to continue the status quo in Washington, though, and if Kerry were to chose Bayh, it would be about the most disallusioning thing he could do, for me.

I'll wait to see how Kerry actually governs as a prez.
