4. That was my first-ever protest rally
October 15, 1969 around the "Willie the Silent" statue at Rutgers University in NJ. There was a huge crowd. Noam Chomsky was one of the speakers.

I was a 17-year-old freshman at Rutgers' Livingston College, and while I deplored the war, neither I nor anyone else there had a clue about the impact of that rally until reading this DU post about Daniel Ellsberg.

I am absolutely dumbfounded. Nukes? Nixon was THAT crazy? I knew he was crazy, but to THAT level?
