From the linked article, written by Reuters, not a conspiracy theorist:

"According to a Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll carried out in July, more than one-third of Americans suspect U.S. officials helped in the September 11 attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could later go to war."

That's the truth of the OP. No matter if the 'officialy story' is 1000% dead-on acurate, fully ONE THIRD of our fellow citizens simply don't believe it.

And the point of this thread ought to be equally stark: If our govenment had been earning our trust on every other matter they've touched, that one third of citizens who doubt the official story would be reduced to one third of one percent.
