Well, we can't expect our Senators and their staffs to keep up with national opinion polls, now, can we? Especially since in this day and age of Diebold, they don't really have to.

Next step: rigged polls, so that McCain and the rest of the Republican extremists can simply tell us what we think. Not that they don't already do that through the Mighty Wurlitzer -- but at least we still have polls to refer to that say something different.
