Poor people cannot get any kind of phone service but these prepaid cell phones. They may have a poor credit rating and be denied both land line and regular cell phone accounts. And have you noticed that old-fashioned pay phones are disappearing everywhere? These phones are the ONLY way they have to communicate, period. How is someone supposed to get a job, if they don't havce a number to put on the application for the employer to call them back if they are hired?
