The Dems are doing the right thing by using the terror plot to separate the War on Terror from the War in Iraq , which now has Americans pinned between a Sunni-Shia Civil War. Dems Will Win The House If They Can Separate Terror and Iraq Civil War, and here's some DU Talking Points to help do that.

First of all, Dem will win if they emphasize that just as Bush and the Rubber Stamp Congress failed to respond to Katrina, the War on Terror, the War and Occupation of Iraq, and the War in Afghanistan are all miserable failures. Mission Accomplished - NOT! This is just as bad news for America as the Katrina response was to New Orleans and the Gulf. In short, it is a complete governmental disaster.

Second of all, the GOP is crowing that we cannot afford to fail in Iraq, and have a failed state in between Syria and Iran. Duh! Why didn't the President think getting rid of Saddam would mean eventual civil war between Sunni and Shia? Oh wait, that's right, Bush did not even know there were two warring sects of Islam in January of 2003, just weeks before the invasion trigger was pulled.

More importantly, the question should be asked by Dems of every Rubber Stamper who says we cannot fail in Iraq: "If we cannot afford to fail in Iraq, then should the US not escalate the fight, double or triple the number of troops there, which General Shinseki wanted and Rumsfeld nixed. You must concede that is the original mistake and we still have not fixed it and that's why we now have a civil war with 100 dead a day. That's a 9-11 a month! Are you in favor of ADDING 200,000 US TROOPS TO IRAQ SO THAT ORDER IS RESTORED AND CONTROL TURNED OVER TO THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT." Then scoff at "we have enough troops and are handing power over to the Iraqis")

Finally, Dems will win if they point out the obvious failure of the "War on Terror". Dems will win if they repeat Richard Clarke's condemnation of the Bush Administration not even having a single meeting in 2001 on terrorism before 9-11. This despite Clarke running around DC with "hair on fire" about al-Queda.

Dems will win if they endlessly repeat the following:

At the battle of Kunduz, several hundred foreign fighters we given amnesty by the Northern Alliance and the US. In fact, it is alleged that US helicopters flew the foreign fighers out of Kunduz to Pakistan in return for surrendering the city without a fight--they let hundreds of them go to kill American citizens another day. This is how Bush and the Rubber Stampers think they're fighting terrorism. Rumsfeld later denied the helicopter flights.

The US let the foreign fighters escape through the airport. The following report from the BBC says it was Pakistani aircraft, but others said it was US helicopters! This was al-Queda, let go to Pakistan.

Speaking to the BBC earlier, another alliance commander, General Daoud, said most of the Taleban fighters in Kunduz had chosen to lay down their weapons and surrender peacefully in the last few days, but an unspecified number had been killed.

The Taleban in Kunduz included foreigners - mainly Pakistanis, Chechens and Arabs - who have suffered brutal treatment at hands of Northern Alliance forces during their takeover of other Afghan cities in recent weeks.

Air activity

Kunduz residents said that during the past three nights there was intense air activity at the airport. They believe Pakistani aircraft had evacuated trapped foreign fighters.

There has been no independent confirmation of the alleged evacuations.

Dems will win if they talk of Tora Bora, where the opportunity to take Osama was "bungled" (oh that darn Fog of War). For several days, the only American at Tora Bora was GERALDO RIVERA, pointing to the mountain top and reporting: "Osama Bin Laden is up there folks!" After a few days, an exasperated Rivera began complaining that the military was still not there and blowing it. That's when the first few Americans showed up on ATVs. So Osama was able to escape when the pass to Pakistan was not blocked.

And why have Bush and the Rubber Stampers not carried the fight to Osama in Pakistan? It's certainly not the "issue of sovereignty" that they claim.

The truth is the Republicans need terrorists so they can use fear and terror alerts to win elections. Terrorists have replaced the Communist bogeyman, now more desperately needed for the '06 election than ever--they are down to their last lie, for everything else GOP is now a proven bust or outright lie in the public's mind. The Rubber Stampers MUST conflate Iraq with the War on Terror to keep the Congress. Dems Will Win The House and Maybe the Senate If They Can Separate The War on Terror and Iraq Civil War.

The obvious politicization of today's terror alert in yesterday's statements of Cheney and Snow, and the totally unnecessary and shameless calling out of the National Guard to "help in the second airport checkpoints" by Arnold, Pataki and Romney was all obviously planned in advance to start the election season like the flag at Indy. All are running for either Governor or President.

That's where the neo-con GOP went too far--in the National Guard callup. That just might alert the press even more than they are to this neo-con fascist game (and KO was great tonight). How many Guard were actually called out? Were they absolutely necessary according to the experts? TOTAL BALONEY AND FEAR-MONGERING.

Dems will win if they hold their ground on these talking points and not let the Rubber Stampers label them weak, or un-American, soft on terrorism.

Dems will win if they keep repeating the points over and over. And you should too, with your friends, family and co-workers if you can.

THE IRAQ CIVIL WAR IS OUR NEW VIETNAM--IT IS IRAQNAM.

please remember to recommend to help get these Dems Will Win Talking Points out there. Thanks.
