Healthcare, Jobs, the Deficit and Iraq: Democratic Victory Strategy 2006

What is the Democratic Strategy for 2006? We do not really need one strategy. It makes more sense to approach each race individually. Make Democrat mean one thing in California and another in South Texas. You have a better chance of winning elections that way.

But,here is a simple template strategy that is sort of all purpose, designed to appeal to the Democratic base without offending independent or Republican voters.

Strong Democratic Issues are:

1. HEALTH CARE: Still a number one concern for people all across America. The GOP wants America to fear a Democratic Congress? Let's tell them that a Democratic Congress isnt going to waste so much time with impeachment that it wont have time to SOLVE THE NATION'S HEALTH CARE WOES.

2.JOBS: This is always a strong Democratic issue.Flaunt it.

3. DEFICIT: The GOP has been spending like a manic-depressive off meds. Remind America how much money Cheney and Halliburton are getting. Promise to cut off the payloa. Talk about the future and social security and responsibility.

4. IRAQ. GOPers love to ask the trick question "What would the Democrats do differently about the war?"

Here is the trick answer: "We will first regain the trust of the American people by admitting that our leaders lied about the reasons for the war, and the war probably was ill planned and not justified. We will hold those who lied accountable. Once Americans believe that they have been told the truth, they will finally be willing to get behind the war effort. Simulataneously, we will return the decision making process to those best able to make military decisions---the generals on the ground. Politicians have no place making military decisions, and this is a big reason why the war has gone so badly under the Bush administration."

Comments, suggestions?

Avoid issues like abortion, school prayer, taxes etc. as much as possible since these are GOP issues.
