of course the women are the caretakers for their husbands when they get Alzheimers, Parkinsons and cancer etc. Sometimes a good portion of the savings goes to the husband's health care costs.

It would be interesting to see how many of the women then go on reduced survivor benefits. Their final days will likely be in a nursing home if they get a disabling illness. This is paid for with their cash assets, until the money runds out and then they go on Medicaid.
Reducing a woman's benefits would speed the track to Medicaid - something the admin is trying to turn over to the states.

If all men do not throw a fit about this I would suggest they look for loving caretakers elsewhere!
