I just got home from observing the election canvas in Ventura.

They have tons of absentee ballots to still be unsealed and counted. I watched as they matched the signature on the envelope to the signature on file electronically. then I also observed them making duplicates of ballots the scanner refused to accept for whatever reason they look to see if they are over votes and make a duplicate one saw the person I was observing for get a few votes in that process. She is down by 15 votes right now about neck and neck! I also saw the scanners doing stacks of ballots reminded me of the movie Eagle Eye where the ATM throws out the money. Anyway it was good to see our democracy in action I just wish I could trust the tabulating software better as who knows what is in that code! Well the people seemed to be doing a great job and they have their hands full with it they started out with 86000 absentee and provisional ballots the day after election they still have 50K still to go as of yesterday afternoon. Hum that is about the same as the number in all of Alaska :wtf:
