If the RW (or other Democrats) Make Wright an Issue

There is a simple solution that will quell all the foolishness about how "un-American" Obama's church is: bring out Oprah, who is a member of the church, too. Let her talk about the church and the way it helps the community, feeds people's faith and hope, and teaches an inspiring message about the inherent equality of LGBT people, women, and the impoverished.

You can say a lot of things about both the RW and about Oprah, but even the right wing nutjobs would be foolish to take on Oprah....because they would LOSE and lose BADLY. Of course, I know lots of DUers have problems with Oprah, but we would do to remember that, however unfashionable she might be hither and thither, she has a huge audience and, even among people who don't count themselves as part of her audience, she has earned respect for more than a generation.

So let her speak. And let them take her on. And we will see who wins.
