The media has created Obama; told you, for 15 yrs to hate anything Clinton; and declared John Edwards a non-entity, even though he represents the best of the Dem party. And you Obama supporters rush to obey.
You honestly don't know what you think you know about him as a candidate. For me, it's like watching the train wreck that was the IWR. I knew there was no WMD in Iraq. The CIA had declassified a report back in the late 90's, after Bill bombed the shit out of every inspection site that as much as said so. Andrea Mitchell had confided to a friend of mine back in Feb of 2002 that the Bushies would be rolling out an Iraq war in Aug of 2002 -- she was a month off. Assume our reps know this stuff? No, they don't. They spend 2/3 of their time raising cash for the next election and have 25 yr old legislative assistants read 700 page bills and give them a one page summary about them.
Obama is the same sort of media creation that GW Bush was. The media ignored his record in favor of his myth -- the one they created. How else to explain why they called Gore a liar, while ignoring the fact that Bush would say things about his education legislation that were patently untrue, or why he could stand on the stump and say he supported SCHIP as a governor when he had vetoed the bill, and only let it become law without his signature once it was clear the lege had the votes for an override? The media is doing the same thing with Obama. He has a thin record to begin with, but it has all been based on political calculation. That is why all the "present" votes, the skipped votes, the omission that he voted against timetables for withdrawal until he decided to run as the anti-war candidate. Rezko was an important part of the party machine in IL. And he played ball with him all the way, and now pretends he doesn't know the guy. He knows him, I assure you. He knows him very well. He is the equivelent of Bush's Ken Lay.
The point is you Obama supporters are being spoon fed his candidacy by a media that does not tell you the truth. He is not the man you think he is. He is corrupt and politically calculating as any politician I have seen in the Democratic party. And his supporters are in for some serious buyer's remorse if he wins the nod; even more if somehow wins the election, which is doubtful.
And in many ways, I would almost rather see McCain win rather than have Obama bring down our party they way Bush has his. No, I won't vote for McCain -- I have never voted for a rethug in my entire life -- but I cannot vote for Obama.
