Admittedly, it's a pretty tenuous analogy, but it could be argued that a gospel concert is nothing more than communal prayer put to music. Thus, it could be said that Obama is simply praying with McClurkin as Clinton was with Santorum. The main difference that could be argued is that the concert is public while the prayer group is private.

On the other hand, consider that a regular prayer group of powerful United States Senators is a a far different animal than the one at your local church. I submit that Clinton's participation in that prayer circle may have far deeper ramifications than the Obama campaign having a homophobic closet case sing for a few thousand people at a concert in SC. Especially since it's highly doubtful he was going to use that particular platform to advance his views on the subject. Then again, I'm pretty sure homosexuality didn't come up much in the prayer group either. So who knows? :shrug:
