6. The multiple sides of this issue become headaches when one
attempts to see some sort of "bigger picture."
Censure seems so utterly toothless and smacking of desperation. Its only real effects seem to be codifying the disgust and anger felt by a majority of Americans and getting some movers and shakers to come down-on the record-as in serious opposition to the evaporation of the things that the US assumes to be known for.

But, to press analogy beyond comfort, desperate times do force desperate men to take desperate measures and throwing a bit of sand into the gears of an insidious monster may not stop that monster but it might slow it down or contribute to its overall demise.
Because censure can change the conversation, I support the effort to bring this to pass and enable it to be pointed to as proof that stiffer measures are justified. However, I don't expect an earth shaking shift.
In a battle, even a tiny delaying action can alter the course. You can't put the peak rock on the top of the pyramid until the rest of the pyramid is built.

Unsung heroes are unsung because their tiny, seemingly insignificant actions actually changed the world but nobody noticed it at the time.

If we had a senate made up of Fine-golds and a house made up of Waxmans, the government would be in safe hands.
