Hangin with Dennis

I posted this last night on the General Discussion board. I'm not sure that was the best choice so, I'm reposting it here.

Admittedly, I was already sold on this man as my presidential candidate. Yesterday, he made a stop in Nashville and I spent a couple of hours watching and listening to him answer questions to see if he is what I thought him to be. This is my impression.

He seems to connect with people on a personal level. He's pretty soft spoken if yesterday's anything to judge by. He handles the tough questions with grace and tact. He didn't fumble words. He was direct without being threatening and I like the way he handled some of those dismissive bozos who "interviewed" him. Not that they were rude to his face, but the things they did on the side or said out of earshot.

One guy, a personality on the local news whose name I won't mention, stood to the side with a 5 x 7 photograph of DK. I watched him stop a man (grandpa) walking by to ask him if he knew who it was. I didn't hear the answer, but I could tell he gave the response sought by the reporter by the smirk on his face.

I wondered if he were to show grandpa all of the candidates would he be able to identify them all? Second, it's grandpa. He probably can't remember where he parked his car five minutes ago although he can recall names of people he worked with in 1942 but hasn't seen since. What does this prove? He's not a "real" candidate or we shouldn't vote for Dennis because grandpa can't remember if he's ever seen DK on t.v.? I don't know if the reporter used it on the news or not.

Putting that aside and ending on a positive note. I was not disappointed. DK strikes me as genuine.
