Conyers on impeachment, Hillary

One of President Bush’s most ardent and newly powerful congressional critics stuck to the Democratic leadership line and said he won’t pursue impeachment of the president. But House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers, D-Mich., told about 25 local Democratic and labor activists in West Palm Beach this morning that he plans to conduct plenty of investigative hearings on administration policies.

“It’s not impeachment, because he (Bush) is history already. But we do want oversight of all the things we’ve done,” said Conyers, who made two morning appearances in Palm Beach County after attending the Super Bowl in Miami on Sunday.
