I traveled there several times before Chavez. It is a beautiful country with beautiful people.
I am very Pro-Chavez, and pray that those reforms migrate Northward. :)

100 years of US Corporate exploitation coupled with the antagonistic posture of the Bush* administration toward the reforms in Venezuela (and attempts to overthrow Chavez) have promoted a certain level of Anti-American Sentiment and Suspicion among the population who (understandbly) would prefer that the US leave them the fuck alone. For someone already showing sign of Paranoia , Caracas After Dark would push him over the edge.

VIVA Chavez!!!!
