3. There was a time when . . .

. . the national Socialist Party in Germany was . . what they were. Eventually, they killed enough of their opposition and intimidated enough of the rest so that they took over their nation's government.

Their policies of racial hatred and their need to militarily dominate neighboring nations led to one of the darkest periods in human history and the deaths of some sixty million people - the vast majority of whom were civilians and other innocents caught up in their pathological war-lust. These were very sick people who believed their egotistical political visions were far more important than the millions of innocent lives they destroyed to realize them.

At first, the peaceful world slumbered on and refused to believe they would actually try to carry out their fanciful intentions, intentions they made no secret of. They created a complete narrative of victimhood to justify their aggression - and many on the political fringes in more peaceful countries even pitied and apologized for them.

But eventually the world came to its senses and utterly destroyed those monsters. Sadly, the cost was vastly greater in both lives and dollars than it would have been had the world simply taken them seriously - when they first pledged the destruction of their ideological and ethnic enemies.

The parallel between the Germany of the thirties and the Nasrallas and Almedinijads of today is eerily chilling to anyone who doesn't spend exhaustive amounts of psychic energy trying to deny them. The main difference is the orders-of-magnitude difference in the relative destructive power of weapons that are being made available to these modern Nazis compared to those of recent history. I would think that 60 million dead innocents is a rather low mark for our next throw of the world-domination dice.

On edit: Just to make sure I'm not misunderstood, comparing Hamas to the IRA is one of the most idiotic statements I've ever seen in this forum.
