Sympathy for deranged gun owners [View All]

No, not gun owners who are sane and responsible. They need no sympathy, as they know that President
Obama has never had any intention of coming to confiscate their firearms. But pity the nut cases who
think that Fox speaks the truth and that whatever they hear on National Hate Radio is gospel--they are
the ones who must be getting more and more frustrated with every passing (and peaceful) day.

Most gun owners with a brain know perfectly well that Obama has no intention of taking their guns away,
and that any hype to that effect was started by the radical right to drum up support for contributions
to the NRA or to Republican candidates in the last election. There are plenty of paranoids out there,
however, who are totally convinced that an army of "libbruls" and "towel-head" Taliban is really going
to show up on their doorstep any minute now to take their guns away from them by force.

They must be growing tired of waiting. Here they have been waiting, barricaded in their fortresses, armed
to the teeth, stocks of beer and canned pork and beans dwindling, wondering when Obama's agents of socialism
are going to come for their precious firearms. And they must be getting impatient for the fight to begin.
Their frustration will only mount as they discover that it's the absolute worst-case scenario. Not that
Obama has organized the forces of liberalism to take their guns by force, but worse yet--he hasn't and
never intended to.
