A classic denialist response

to claims of anthropogenic causes of climate change argues that the biosphere is so vast our puny efforts could hardly have a serious impact. The Spill kind of knocks that one in the head. If every pound of oil pouring into the Gulf had been refined, the resulting consumeable fuel would have dumped at least 3 pounds of CO2 into the air. The result would have been just as bad, but invisible; spread over more time and a broader area. So we could have ignored it. We can't ignore the Spill. Even goons like Inhofe can't ignore it.
