Do you remember reading about those 3rd world dictators that our Gov. taught us were slimy and untrustworthy, and every once in awhile they would bleed the country dry then flee with the loot?
You know...Marcos, etc.
And then we would shake out head and wonder what the hell was the matter with them, how could the people put up with such obvious chicanery for so long?

You know where I am going with this, don't you???
