My aviation career ended because I thought they would HAVE to accept the (modest and very reasonable) change to my contract. I misunderestimated them. They didn't. If Tokyo HQ didn't invent it, it didn't exist.
You'd think I would have known better after 10 years experience with the culture. What the hell, I was worn out and ready to hang it up at age 58 anyway. That was 12 years ago, and I'm content. Life goes on.
