not an antique store where they really might know what they are doing.

Sometimes people know dishes, but not artwork.


Call a museum, call a university, or look on line for somebody that deals in things that really do have value, not sofa art.


same for the records. music historians, etc.

Sometimes the library is a better source as well, Not everything is on line. We sometimes forget that, though.

Never take the first offer, and always get a second opinion. If either really have value, you don't want to get screwed.
