9. Decades ago, I bought surplus x-acto knock-off blades.
1000 for something like $20. They all had this little plastic piece molded on the base, so I spent a couple of hours popping them off with pliers and then had enough blades that I could share them to friends and even one of my instructors (I gave her a little film can of 100 :)) I still have a few hundred since I don't use them much anymore. To keep them from rusting, I sprayed some machine oil into the plastic bulk-film can they are in and it's worked for well over 20 years :D

The site I bought them from is still around and I know I showed it to CMW, so you may know of it now: American Science & Surplus :hi:
