Luckily, it's all hand-me-down furniture, so whenever I get new stuff, I'll be sure to get slip covers. He can shred those all he wants. He has a scratching post and loves it, but he knows if I'm either not paying enough attention or didn't do something he wanted, then the furniture gets the full scratching rip.

I'm sorry to hear about your shoes, especially after just buying them. Too bad you can't take them to the store and let them pick out the ones they'd want to rip up the most :P
