Our town

where the sun don't NEVER shine

removes snow from the main roads
not the sidewalks
not the water drains in the intersections
not the side-streets from which you must start and stop often on a hill

Pedestrians aren't welcome here
and the bus drivers can't drive in the snow without getting stuck -- sooo ---

nor get me to work on time

It's SLUSHY
It's SLIPPERY and ICY
It's ANKLE DEEP PUDDLES OF WATER
and
Knee-deep snow along the sidewalks

which,

if you have to happen to have to cross the street

means leaping into snow about 3 1/2 feet deep
