2. I like it too, though I really do miss Doakes, who was my favorite.
His interactions with Dexter were the best.

I don't have a problem with that incident for a couple of reasons. First, if I'm remembering the correct scene, Dexter found out about the place on his own by his own means; Jimmy Smits character found out in a different way, also on his own, and didn't tell the other cops about it because he wanted to handle it himself. So Dexter did not know anybody else would be coming to the place, and the rest of the cops were not coming yet any way. Also, once Dexter learned more about his father and realized he had lied to him, he began questioning everything his father said and started trying to get past his father, thinking of himself as free from his father and now making his own rules. Though he does still follow anal rules and remembers what his father told him, he's varying things somewhat as he tries to come to terms with everything and again try to find out who he (Dexter) really is.

I also like his sister's haircut; I think it's flattering on her.
