"Why did the fat people have to go back to a dead planet? I didn't get it."
"It wasn't going to get any better on Earth... all they knew was that Earth had one little scrawny plant."
"Wall*E is a machine. Machines don't fall in love. Stupid movie."
The children are both in elementary school. Some of the "jokes" were very subtle. Maybe young children can't make the connection between reality and animated science fiction fantasy involving two very different MACHINES.
