Elvis was sent by space aliens to give our culture a much needed jolt. If the spaceship had drifted off course a couple hundred miles it wouldn't have changed anything

Unless you're one of those freaks that believe in the absurd theory that a lot of the Elvis success was due to Memphis in general and Sam Phillips in particular.
