26. That's quite a story.
I think nearly every male has regrets about women not pursued more vigorously. I certainly do, and I still have the most clear recollection of specific times as a shy young man, with virtually no understanding of the "moves" I was expected to make, when I was alone with a young woman. Maybe I should have drunk more back in those days, because alcohol proved very effective in helping me in other instances.

These days, I spend more time thinking about women I see here and there, who are attractive to me, but not enough so to prompt a pass. What is she like? What would it be like to be with her?

Yes, it definitely makes life much more interesting.
