13. I have the purple "Animal" model.

I really like it. I had both a Fantom and a Hoover Windtunnel and both over time lost suction and power no matter how much I tried to clean them. The Dyson is working good as new. I have 5 cats and a dog and this thing is very good at picking up hair. There are some things you have to get used to. For example, when you have it totally upright it will only clean with the wand. You always have to have it slightly tilted for it to clean from the bottom. Also, if you get too close to a wall or sofa or something, it makes this really loud noise that scares my cats (and me!). One good thing I like is that this vacuum does not have bands that can break if you suck up something that would break one in any other vacuum. I don't know how many bands broke with my other vacuums! For me it was worth the money. I have had it now for about 3 years. At the time there was not only a purple vacuum but 3 different models to choose from. Also, Sears is the only place that you can take it to that will repair it if something goes wrong with it. They have a repair contract with Dyson, or at least they were the only ones that did when I got mine so you should check into that if you go shopping around for one. And Sears was also the only place (at least at the time) that sold all 3 models. The one you see at Target is the large one. I got the midrange model that is smaller and lighter. The top of the line model is about the same size as mine but it has 2 extra cleaning attachments. At the time there was about a $60 difference in price between each one.
