This is half rant and half "pity me" rant, although I really don't need pity - I need a little boast to my self esteem.

I am old (hey, why is my chin hanging on my chest and my chest on my waist?) - when did that happen?

I am fat - never was until 2 huge gains beginning 7 years ago! 1/2 of it happened first from quitting smoking (metabolism slowed down, ate more, less active and stressed out), then 3 years after that I gained another big amount after my husband lost his job and was out of work for almost a year. I try to lose, but not much luck - last year & half I walk 5 times a week at least 30 minutes each time (1.5 miles).

Last week I got laid off from job after 8-1/2 years and got nothing, notta, no severance, and not even a thank you.

So now I am old, fat and feel totally unappreciated!

How do some of you lose weight when depressed? - I am actually jealous of those of you that this happens to! All I do is gain! My "comfort" eating started again yesterday, a week after I thought I could get through this! I bought healthy foods and some junk foods that my husband likes but keep reaching for the potato chips and stuff all day long when I feel like this. What do I do?
