note, I love those albums well beyond their just being music collections.

They're almost like holy books, and I mean that in the most secular of interpretations.

I honor Stevens' decision to join the sect he joined, but I didn't much care for his calling for Rushdie's head on a platter. It didn't jibe with the man I had always respected for writing "Peace Train" and "How Can I Tell You" and 'Into White."
