2. One time when I worked in restaurants...
This 14 year old boy came up and asked if we had any of those plastic lemon juice containers--the ones that look like lemons and have lemon juice in them. I asked him why he wanted one, and he said he needed to put lemon juice on his fish. I told him I'd slice up a lemon for him instead, and he said without irony: "Oh--will that work?"

As for me, at aged 8 or 9, I truly didn't believe you could buy broccoli fresh. Knew it grew in the ground, of course, but I thought the only way it could be marketed to consumers was for it to come in a little box that went in your freezer.

No wonder Americans are so fucked-up about food!!
