Apple, in their infinite wisdom, decided that new Macs no longer need modem ports. But they sell these cool little USB modems for $49. Except that they're out of stock. Maybe by the middle of the month I can hook my new Mac up to the Internet and retire my iBook running System 9.

Yeah, I know I can buy another modem, but they're big and clunky and I don't want a box on my desktop.
