What am i to do? [View All]

Had a little situation that has bothered me all week long. So i thought i might get it off my chest and get some input.

We were walking into a store as a family unit. My oldest daughter asks me what a white woman sees in a black man. JEEBUS! i had one of those smoking gear lock down moments in my head. I don't know where she got this from, 1st i ain't white myself(native)we have black friends, and have them around often. I was raised up that blacks were just like the rest of us(thank you mom). I have never made a negative remark concerning mixed racial relations, and would not allow such remarks to be made in my house.

All i can think of is maybe it's a normal question(please don't let me be raising a racist). The only response i could come up with was, well because he's a man, he's just like any other man. I told her maybe she thinks he's funny, or good lookin'. I got a weird look from her.

This really bothers me. I want her to look at everyone the same, not divide them into colors and classes. I can't help but think i may have done something wrong along the way. I hope i am just over reacting, but it really is bugging the shit outta me.
