You might want to look into Softpaws. Softpaws are a durable nail-cover that are glued firmly in place. They come in a variety of colors, and need replacing when the claw is shed. Many vet's offices can apply these.

Declawing is mutilation. A lot of people don't seem to realize this.

Declawing is not at all like cutting fingernails. Fingernails grow again.

Declawing is exactly like removing ALL of a persons' fingertips with boltcutters. What's left is a row of useless, painful stumps.


By accepting her mother's cat, your friend accepted a duty to protect him. I hope she doesn't let anyone mutilate this cat!
