10. To be honest, I find children's TV to be a nice break.
With all the awful crap in so many forms on the rest of the dial, sometimes it's nice to have a 5 minute break with a kids' show. Don't laugh.

Perhaps I'm over analyzing, but I think kids' TV represents the world as we want it to be. Whenever someone's in trouble, all his or her friends come to help. When there's a problem, all the characters work on a solution together. You never see one of the characters on the sidelines shouting "you're such an ass, Big Bird! That'll never work!! Get a freakin' job!!!"

See what I mean?

I also think that the people who appear in those shows are some of the best people in society, like Mr. Rogers. I mean, here's a guy who devoted his whole life to putting together a quiet, gentle and educational program for children, so that maybe they'd learn some values they could keep for the rest of their lives. Not to damn shabby, Mr. Rogers.
