Pete was funny choking on all. and I had to wait for the second viewing (always watch the rebroadcast) to pick up on Sal's angle on the commercial, but I was kinda disappointed with the episode tonight. Two reasons...

First, it would've been nice if they had some subplot for Sal other than "he's gay and all the closeted gay clients can somehow just smell it on him and want to nail him." He's an interesting character, but there should be more to him than just "to boink or not to boink."

But it was significant how he shot the commercial vs how the Lucky Strikes creep wanted. He said people looking right at you "makes people feel uncomfortable." No Sal, it makes YOU uncomfortable.

The second disappointment was with the teacher-target. They really should've had her put up some resistance. Not every woman in the 60s was a pushover. Were they? I don't know. Don just going out and picking up a new mistress isn't exactly unexplored territory.

PS, just how many zillions of dollars is Hilton Hotels paying Mad Men for making Conrad Hilton a pivotal character as product placement?
