Woohoooooo!!! I GOT MY CAR BACK!!!!

It's sitting in the driveway at this very moment!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks Mom, for helping me financially; if it hadn't been for her, the car would have been auctioned off.
And thanks to my DU friends, who sent good wishes, good vibes, and prayers that this would finally be resolved. :loveya:

-----------------------

On a more sobering note, though, as I was standing at the entrance of the auction lot building, waiting for my car to be brought 'round, I was looking out at row after row after row of cars and trucks and SUVs and what-have-you, and watching as one after the other, more of those trucks that haul multiple vehicles came to the lot, with yet more repossessed cars.

And I thought to myself, I don't know the owners of these vehicles, don't know their stories, don't know if they will be able to get their vehicles back or not. As I said, I am very fortunate in that I have someone who was able to help me get the car back; many people don't have that. How many of these people are ordinary Jane and John Doe's who had been doing all right, and then their jobs were outsourced, or their hours were cut (thus their pay was cut), etc. That's kind of what happened to me; first priority was the household bills (rent, lights, water, garbage, food....). How many of them have someone who might be able to help them get their vehicle back? How many of them don't, and they are going to permanently lose that vehicle?

------------------------

I AM happy that I got my car back, and grateful for the support from my blood family and my DU family. But looking at all the cars in that lot....well, it's a reminder that even though things are kind of tough for me right now, they're even tougher for others, and I won't forget that.

 :grouphug:
