You see, I can't imagine that a part-time consultant to the Defense Policy Board would have any RIGHT or REASON to know the identity of NOC agent. There's no way he should be cleared for that information -- it's almost as secret as the launch codes.

So if Perle told Novak, the question is: Who told Perle?

My guess: I've been thinking for some time that this administration probably doesn't compartmentalize information along need-to-know or clearance-level lines. The hallmark of the Bushes is to privilege people according to their loyalty to the Bush family and it's goals. I bet there's all SORTS of information Rove, Perle and others are aware of that they have no RIGHT to know, if normal or even just adequate information security policies were in place.

So I bet that if someone really starts digging on this (I can dream, can't I?), it will come out that the Bush administration has been a leaky bucket from the beginning.
