CONFIRMED F2 TORNADO IN MUNFORDVILLE IN HART COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY...

A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PUSHED THROUGH CENTRAL KENTUCKY AND SOUTHERN INDIANA LATE SATURDAY NIGHT. A NWS STORM SURVEY TEAM PERFORMED A SITE SURVEY AND DETERMINED THAT A STRONG F2 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN IN DOWNTOWN MUNFORDVILLE AT APPROXIMATELY 445 CST (545 EST). MUNFORDVILLE IS THE COUNTY SEAT OF HART COUNTY. THE KENTUCKY WING OF THE CIVIL AIR PATROL VOLUNTEERED TO FLY THE TRACK...AND PROVIDED EXTENSIVE AERIAL INFORMATION TO COMPLIMENT THE GROUND SURVEY TEAM. HERE IS THE SPECIFIC INFORMATION FROM THE SURVEY.

* MAX TORNADO INTENSITY - F2
* MAX EST WINDS - 150 MPH
* MAX PATH WIDTH - 200 YARDS
* MAX EST PATH LENGTH - 1 MILE
* TIME OF OCCURRENCE - 445 AM CST
* INJURIES/FATALITIES - NONE (FEW SCRAPES AND CUTS)
* WARNINGS - SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING ISSUED AT 423 AM CST
* WARNINGS - UPGRADED TO TORNADO WARNING AT 440 AM CST
* LEAD TIME - ON THE TORNADO WARNING WAS 5 MINUTES

THE NWS WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND OUT APPRECIATION TO RUSS HENSLEY THE INCIDENT COMMANDER OF THE KY WING CIVIL AIR PATROL.Woodbury, KY Damage Survey

...CONFIRMED 80 MPH STRAIGHT LINE WINDS IN WOODBURY IN BUTLER COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY...A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PUSHED THROUGH CENTRAL KENTUCKY AND
SOUTHERN INDIANA LATE SATURDAY NIGHT. THE NWS STORM SURVEY TEAM IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE KY WING OF CIVIL AIR PATROL (BOTH AERIAL AND GROUND) DISCOVERED 80 MPH STRAIGHT LINE NEAR THE LOCK AND DAM IN WOODBURY. TWO HOMES HAD SOME STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THEIR ROOFS IN WOODBURY...ALONG WITH A LARGE GROVE OF MAPLE TREES BLOWN DOWN.

* MAX EST PATH LENGTH - .5 MILES
* TIME OF OCCURRENCE - 400 AM CST
* INJURIES/FATALITIES - NONE
* WARNINGS - SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING ISSUED AT 334 AM CST... UPGRADED TO TORNADO WARNING AT 350 AM CST.
* LEAD TIME - ON THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING WAS 26 MINUTES.

THE NWS WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND OUT APPRECIATION TO RUSS HENSLEY THE INCIDENT COMMANDER OF THE KY WING CIVIL AIR PATROL.
