I participated in last year's protest in Kansas City, and while there weren't a lot of us there - maybe 100, 150 - it felt right to stand up and be counted. We got a few idiots who flipped us off or screamed pro-Bush obscentities out their car windows, but we got far more thumbs-up and waves from passing motorists. I think it's just as important to show up in smaller demos across the country, and not just the big ones in DC and NY.

Being silent in the face of evil is simply wrong. I hope everyone takes a few hours to participate in our democracy (what little is left) next month.
