He/she's wrong, but since I'm a Manhattanite, I figured I should check it out.
These are the numbers I see on the NY State Board of Elections Site.

New York County:

Bush/Cheney: 518,919
Kerry/Edwards 1,600,228

But the population of NY County is under 2 million, isn't it? Did they lump all of NYC together or am I just reading wrong?

I don't know, maybe these numbers are wrong, but your numbers have got to be low in total vote count (less than 600,000 people living on Manhattan Island voted? Only a little more than 1/3 of the population of the county? I'd really hope it was higher, being that there aren't all that many under 18s as a percentage of Manhattan population)..anyone want to jump in and explain why I'm seeing the same facts as a freeper? ARGH! THAT CAN'T BE!
