I am in Texas, after all. We've had many good liberal Texas politicians who were against most forms of gun control. But I sometimes get the feeling on this site that our Texas Dems would be shunned in favor of RWers like Henry Hyde, just because he supports Sarah Brady. Crazy.


And as Roving Gourmet so succinctly stated, it means an excuse for all politicians to ignore the REAL problems of our society which lead to all kinds of violence, not just gun violence. You know, things such as the lack of a quality education or educational opportunities, the lack of high paying jobs, the lack of a family/gov'tal/other support system, the lack of hope in many communities, etc. But *those* issues can't be boiled down to the 10 word catch phrase so popular with Americans and American politicians. :eyes:
