After this story percolates through the country, the testimony is heard and the evidence is presented by the Clinton guys to the commission, they can point to these statements as proof of their objectivity. Imagine the future damage if Biden/Lieberman come out in a few weeks and say "I didn't want to believe it - none of us wanted to believe the President of this country could do such a horrible thing.
