Okay, try this on for size.

We know that Cheney wants the CIA exempted from any rule on torturing prisoners.

We know that Cheney knows about those secret prisons and we know they are run by the CIA.

We know that Cheney attended that GOP luncheon that Lott is saying the leak on the prisons came from.

We know that McCain was also at that luncheon.

Perhaps Cheney discussed the secret prisons with someone - maybe more than one - at that GOP luncheon in an effort to push exempting the CIA from any rules on torturing.

Perhaps then it was discussed by others who were at the GOP luncheon and McCain heard about it.

We know that McCain is bitterly opposed to torture and bitterly opposed to Cheney's idea of exempting the CIA from torture rules.

Perhaps that makes McCain the leaker on the secret prisons - an assault on Cheney's push for exempting the CIA from torture rules.
